Davie, Broward County
Deep Sea Fishing Charters for Davie Groups
From the horse country along Orange Drive to the campus at Nova Southeastern, Davie is a 35-minute drive from our slip at Hillsboro Inlet.
Private Charters, Short Drive, Fast Fishing
Davie is Broward County's western town, known for horse trails, rodeo weekends and a downtown that still looks like the Old West. It is also a growing college town, with Nova Southeastern, Broward College and the Florida Atlantic campus all inside the town limits. Both crowds find their way to our dock. A Broward County offshore fishing charter gives a Davie group a private boat, a captain and mate, and a shot at sailfish, mahi-mahi and wahoo without any of the planning.

See Broward County Offshore FishingHow a Davie Charter Day Unfolds
The drive from Davie is simple even if it is not short. I-595 east to I-95 north, then Atlantic Boulevard east to Riverside Drive, is about 35 minutes from the Davie Road corridor and closer to 45 from the ranches out by Flamingo Road. The Turnpike north to Atlantic Boulevard is the better route from western Davie, and it avoids the I-95 merge at rush hour. Plenty of Davie guests book the 12:00 PM half-day for that reason.
Once you are aboard, the boat handles everything. Each of our two sportfishing boats carries a captain and a mate, tournament-grade tackle, fishing licenses for every guest, a cooler of ice and bottled water, and an air-conditioned salon. Hillsboro Inlet opens straight onto the reef line and the Gulf Stream, so a half-day fishing charter in Pompano Beach delivers real offshore fishing in four hours.
Davie anglers who have grown up on bass and peacock bass in the C-11 canal get a different kind of fight offshore. Winter sailfish jump and tail-walk on light tackle, spring mahi-mahi hit hard along the weed lines, and summer grouper try to dive back into the wrecks. A full-day charter lets the captain chase two or three of those species in one trip.
Between the university crowd, the equestrian community and the families in the newer neighborhoods west of University Drive, Davie sends us birthday groups, graduation trips, fraternity outings and father-son days. Six guests ride on one boat and two boats run together for 12. Friends from Fort Lauderdale along I-595 often fill the last seats, and every group leaves the dock with cleaned, bagged fillets.

Why Davie Anglers Make the Drive to Hillsboro Inlet
Davie is landlocked, and the nearest inlets are Port Everglades to the east and Hillsboro Inlet to the northeast. Port Everglades is closer on a map, but the commercial traffic, cruise ships and long no-wake zones inside the port add time before any fishing starts. Hillsboro Inlet is a small, quick inlet with the reef and the Gulf Stream just outside it, which is why our boats live in Pompano Beach and why Davie groups make the longer drive.
Davie anglers usually arrive with freshwater experience from the canals and lakes around town. Offshore tackle is heavier, the fish are faster and the technique is different, so our mates rig every bait, set every hook if needed and coach guests through each fight. The captain holds a 50-ton USCG license, every guest gets a safety briefing at the dock, and the boat carries all Coast Guard-required equipment.
The season runs year-round out of Pompano Beach, but the patterns change. November through March is sailfish time, with kingfish and blackfin tuna in the mix. Spring brings mahi and cobia, and summer is the calmest water for a first trip. Winter weekends book two to three weeks out, and weekday dates on our Pompano Beach deep sea charters are the easiest to get.

Clear Rates, No Surprises at the Dock
Rates are per boat, not per person, so a group of six from Davie splits the cost. Your mate rigs every bait and fillets the catch when you are back at the slip.
Have a question first? Send a message with your dates and group size and we will call you back. Private charter, up to 6 guests. 20% gratuity for the mate is customary.
Davie Fishing Charter Questions
I-595 east to I-95 north, exit at Atlantic Boulevard and head east toward the beach. Our slip is near Riverside Drive, near Hillsboro Inlet. From western Davie, the Turnpike north to Atlantic Boulevard is usually faster.
Plan on 35 to 45 minutes and arrive 15 minutes before departure.
The 7:00 AM departure has the calmest seas and the strongest sailfish bite in winter, but it means leaving Davie around 6:00 AM. The 12:00 PM half-day avoids the I-95 rush and still fishes the same reefs and drop-off.
Compare both departure windows for a half-day fishing charter in Pompano Beach.
Yes, and they do every spring. One boat carries six guests at one flat rate, so a group of friends splits the cost of a private trip. Guests 21 and over are welcome to bring beer or wine, and the boat has a Bluetooth radio for your playlist.
It depends on the month. Winter is sailfish, kingfish and blackfin tuna. Spring brings mahi-mahi and cobia, summer means snapper and grouper on the wrecks, and wahoo show up from fall into winter.
Check peak months for every fish species we target off Pompano Beach.
We do. A Pompano Beach sunset boat charter runs two hours for $400 with extra hours at $200, and it works well after a day at the beach. Sandbar trips and special occasion tours are available too.
