Davie - Offshore
Davie Offshore Fishing Charters
I-595 to I-95 north puts Davie groups at our Pompano Beach slip in about 35 minutes, with the reef and the Gulf Stream waiting outside Hillsboro Inlet.
Davie is horse country and college town at once. The ranches along Orange Drive and the campuses at Nova Southeastern, Broward College and FAU sit within a few miles of each other. Both crowds end up on the same boat for the same reason: offshore fishing here takes no planning beyond picking a date.
The drive is I-595 east to I-95 north, then Atlantic Boulevard toward the beach, about 35 minutes from the Davie Road corridor. From the ranches out by Flamingo Road the Turnpike is the better route. At the end of it sits a private sportfishing boat for up to 6 guests, a captain, a mate, and reefs and blue water that start a mile off the sand. Our fishing charters for Davie guests include every rod, reel and licence aboard.
Why Davie Groups Drive Past Port Everglades
Davie is landlocked, with two realistic ways out to the ocean. Port Everglades is closer on a map, but cruise ships, commercial traffic and long no-wake zones eat into the day before any line goes in.
Hillsboro Inlet is the alternative, and it is why our boats live in Pompano Beach. The inlet is quick, the reef line starts a mile from the beach and the continental shelf drops away within five. That trade of a few extra minutes in the car for a much shorter run is the whole reason Davie anglers come north.
From Canal Bass to Blue Water
Plenty of Davie anglers grew up on the C-11 canal, throwing at bass and peacock bass with light spinning gear. Offshore tackle is a different animal, and the fish behave nothing like what the canals produce.
Winter sailfish tail-walk behind the boat on light drag. Spring mahi-mahi hit a trolled bait at full speed. Summer grouper try to bury themselves back in the wreck the moment they feel the hook. The mate rigs every bait and talks each angler through the first fight.
Morning or Afternoon out of Pompano Beach
The 7:00 AM departure gets the calmest seas and the strongest winter sailfish bite, though it means leaving Davie around 6:00 AM. The 12:00 PM slot skips the I-95 rush entirely and fishes the same reefs and drop-off.
Both windows run four hours. Groups that want to troll the Gulf Stream edge and still drop on the wrecks step up to six or eight, which our Broward County offshore charters cover in more detail.

Everything Is Already Aboard
The boat is rigged before you arrive: tournament-quality rods and reels, bait, tackle, licences for every guest, coolers packed with ice and bottled water. Both sportfishing boats carry an air-conditioned salon, a galley and a private head.
You bring food, drinks, sunscreen and a light layer for the ride out. Guests 21 and over are welcome to bring beer or wine, and there is a Bluetooth radio aboard for your music. The crew fillets and bags the catch at the dock.
Student Groups, Graduations and Family Days
Spring fills our calendar with Davie bookings. Graduating students split a boat six ways, visiting parents book a morning before commencement, and faculty groups take weekday slots when the dock is quiet.
The equestrian families along Orange Drive treat a charter the way they treat a rodeo weekend, as something the whole family does together. A family fishing charter keeps younger anglers busy on snapper while the adults wait on something bigger.
Book a Davie Charter
Winter weekends book two to three weeks out, and graduation week in spring goes earlier than that. Weekday dates are the easiest to get and often the best fishing of the week.

Offshore Fishing Near Davie: Questions
I-595 east to I-95 north, then east on Atlantic Boulevard toward the beach. Our slip is near Riverside Drive, close to Hillsboro Inlet. From western Davie the Turnpike north to Atlantic Boulevard is usually faster.
Plan on 35 to 45 minutes and arrive 15 minutes before departure.
Yes, and groups from Nova Southeastern and Broward College do every spring. One boat is a single flat rate for up to six guests, so a group of friends splits the cost of a fully private trip.
It is. A mate is aboard every trip to rig baits, set the hook if needed and coach each angler through the fight. Many Davie guests have only fished the canals before their first offshore trip.
If anyone in the group is prone to motion sickness, take medication about an hour before departure.
The captain watches the forecast the day before and makes the call. A weather cancellation is rescheduled or refunded in full, and if conditions build once we are out he adjusts the route or heads in early.
