Hillsboro Beach, Broward County
Charter Fishing for Hillsboro Beach, Straight Out the Inlet
This is the one town we serve where you can stand on the island and watch our boats run out past the lighthouse.
From Hillsboro Beach to the Gulf Stream
Hillsboro Beach sits directly on the inlet our boats run through, which is a relationship no other town we serve has. From the Hillsboro Mile you can watch a sportfisher clear the jetties and turn out past the lighthouse. The reefs, wrecks and Gulf Stream drop-off sit 1 to 5 miles offshore of Hillsboro Inlet, which is exactly why offshore deep sea fishing works so well from this narrow stretch of barrier island.

Trip detailsFishing the Water off Hillsboro Beach
For someone living here the logistics are close to trivial. State Road A1A is the only road in town, and it carries you to the dock without a highway, a toll or a hunt for parking. That matters most on an early departure, when the difference between a short drive and a long one decides whether you book at all. A half-day trip suits a morning that still leaves the rest of the day open.
A lot of homeowners on this island are part-year residents who arrive for the winter, and that season happens to be the best one on this coast. Cold fronts push through, the wind swings hard out of the north, and sailfish stack along the edge in numbers you will not see in July. We fish kites and live baits in that weather. A single front can turn a quiet week into the best fishing of the year.
Spring and summer change the target completely. The current pulls weed lines and floating debris north past the inlet, and mahi-mahi hold under anything that throws shade. Wahoo and kingfish work the same water, while the wrecks keep producing snapper and grouper no matter the month. Because the drop-off is close, we can change tactics partway through a trip instead of committing to one plan at the dock.
Hillsboro Beach shares the inlet with Lighthouse Point on the south side, and the two towns compete for the same mornings for the same reason. Every trip is a private party of six at most, with a mate aboard alongside the captain. Our boats carry tournament-grade tackle, and the crew rigs for whatever the conditions hand us when we clear the jetties.

What Anglers Say After the Trip
"It was the best experience!"
Barbara
"My buddy and I rented the boat for a 6-hour fishing trip, and we had an awesome time. The weather was perfect, and we caught a bunch of mahi-mahi, tuna and some barracuda. It was our first time offshore sport fishing; Captain Ron and his first mate Damian made the experience unforgettable. They were professional, knowledgeable, and worked hard to make sure we had a successful and enjoyable trip. At the end they filleted the fish we caught and we cooked it that night, it was amazing. We for sure will be back for another trip with them."

"We had an amazing time offshore fishing on Father’s Day! While we were a little disappointed that we didn’t hook any mahi, Captain Ron and his incredible mate, Damien, worked hard all day to put us on the fish. They trolled for hours to find mahi they just weren’t bitin! We ended up coming home with plenty of tuna, and the experience/memory was absolutely worth it. Captain Ron was knowledgeable, professional, and made the trip enjoyable from start to finish. Damien was fantastic and helpful, attentive, and always ready to lend a hand. You can tell they genuinely care about giving everyone a great day on the water. Thank you both for helping us make Father’s Day a memorable one. We can’t wait to come back and try for those mahi next time!"

What a Town with One Road and No Businesses Needs from a Charter
Hillsboro Beach has no commercial dock, no tackle shop and nowhere to meet for coffee first, because the town has no businesses at all. Everything a fishing day requires has to come from off the island. We handle that end completely. Rods, reels, rigs, bait, ice and licensing are aboard before you arrive, so the only things you carry down A1A are food, drinks and a hat.
The second issue is the inlet itself. Living on it means you have already watched it on a bad day, with an outgoing tide stacking up against an east swell at the jetties. Our captain runs that cut year round and times departures around it rather than fighting through it. Our boats are set up for that water, and when conditions are genuinely unsafe we move your date instead of selling you a rough morning.
The third is scheduling against a part-year calendar. Winter weeks fill early on this island, and the strongest sailfish dates go to whoever commits first. Neighbors arranging fishing charters in Deerfield Beach are after the same mornings, so a date locked in before you fly down is worth far more than staying flexible once you have arrived.

Hillsboro Beach Fishing Charter Questions
Our dock is in Pompano Beach, on the same inlet you live on. You cross the Hillsboro Inlet bridge and you are nearly there, with no highway involved at any point.
The captain confirms the exact slip and the meeting time once your date is set, so nobody is wandering the docks at dawn looking for the boat.
You do. The lighthouse stands right at the mouth of the cut, a cast-iron skeletal tower that went into service in 1907 and still operates today.
The grounds around it sit inside The Hillsboro Club, which is private, so the view from the water on the way out is the best one anybody gets.
As early as you can manage. The months either side of the new year are prime sailfish season on this coast, and those mornings are the first to go.
If you are down for a set stretch of weeks, choose your dates before you travel rather than after you land.
Neither. Rods, reels, tackle, bait and ice are all aboard, and the boat's license covers everyone fishing that day.
Bring food, drinks, sunscreen and soft-soled shoes. The dock itself sits just across the inlet in Pompano Beach.
