Lighthouse Point takes its name from the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse, and our boats pass beneath that light every time we head offshore. Residents here are a five-minute drive down Federal Highway from the dock, closer than any community we serve outside Pompano Beach itself. The Gulf Stream's warm current sweeps close to the lighthouse, which is why offshore deep sea fishing trips from this inlet produce pelagic fish in every season.
What makes offshore fishing from Lighthouse Point so rewarding is the variety packed into a few miles of ocean. The continental shelf drops off a few miles out, creating depth changes that hold baitfish and the predators that chase them. Less time traveling means more time with baits down. There is no bad month. Sailfish peak November through March, mahi-mahi run spring into summer, kingfish blitz the nearshore reefs once temperatures drop, and snapper and grouper hold on the wrecks all year.

Not at all. First-timers and lifelong anglers are equally welcome. The mate starts with the basics for first-timers, and experienced anglers get kites, live baits and deep drops that push their skills.
Captain Ron holds a 50-ton USCG license and has fished from Massachusetts to South Florida.
Safety comes first. If conditions are unsafe or uncomfortable, we reschedule for a better day, and we reach out early if we see trouble in the forecast.
