Fishing Charters for Deerfield Beach

From Deerfield Beach to the Gulf Stream

Deerfield Beach anglers grow up fishing the International Fishing Pier, so they already know how close the reef sits to shore here. Our dock at Hillsboro Inlet is a 10-minute drive down Federal Highway or A1A from The Cove, and the drop-off waits 1 to 5 miles offshore. Don't Panic Sportfishing runs offshore fishing charters for Deerfield Beach guests aboard Don't Panic, a 47' Buddy Davis, or the 42' Post, with a mate on every trip.

Fishing the Water off Deerfield Beach

Anglers from Deerfield Beach, FL with their catch aboard Don't Panic out of Pompano Beach

The Blue Wave City earned its name for a clean beach, and the water off it is just as good. Pier anglers catch snook and pompano from the planks, but the sailfish, mahi-mahi, wahoo and kingfish run a mile or two farther out along the reef edge. That is where our offshore fishing charters in Broward County spend their time.

Most Deerfield Beach families book a half-day fishing charter trip, either the 7:00 AM or the 12:00 PM departure. Four hours is enough to drop baits on two or three wrecks with our snapper fishing charters and then troll the drop-off on the way home. Groups hosting relatives from up north often stretch it to six hours in sailfish season.

Where do we meet? Every fishing charter leaves from Pompano Beach, on the same Hillsboro Inlet you can see from Deerfield Island Park. Depending on the charter type, a pickup near the Deerfield Beach Pier or at Lighthouse Point Marina can sometimes be arranged, so ask when you book. Either way, you are on the water minutes after leaving home.

Deerfield sits between Boca Raton and the Lighthouse Point sportfishing charters crowd, so residents of all three cities share the same reef line and the same short ride. Quiet Waters Park is fun for a paddle, but the ocean is where the trophy fish live. The fishing charter gallery shows recent catches from this stretch of coast.

Why Deerfield Beach

Why Deerfield Beach Anglers Choose Us

Deerfield Beach has no inlet of its own. Boca Inlet to the north is shallow and slow, so the local fleet has always run out of Hillsboro Inlet at the city's southern edge. Our dock sits on that inlet, which keeps the run to the reef short. Pier anglers who want the fish they cannot reach from the planks book us for exactly that reason.

The seasons here are distinct. Winter cold fronts push sailfish and kingfish along the reef within sight of the pier. Our spring mahi-mahi charters work the weed lines, and summer mornings are calm and clear for bottom fishing. Captain Ron and Captain Lucas track water temperature and current daily and choose the method that is working, not a script.

Everything you need is aboard: state licenses, tournament tackle, live and cut bait, iced coolers and water bottles. You bring food, drinks and sunscreen. Have questions about seasickness or what kids can do on the boat? Call (954) 263-4648 and talk with the captain directly before you commit to a date.

Around Town

Deerfield Beach Neighborhoods We Pick Up From

01

The Cove

The Cove is Deerfield's waterfront restaurant district on the Intracoastal, just north of the Hillsboro Boulevard bridge. Boaters who dock here for dinner are five minutes from our slip. It is the natural place to celebrate after a full-day fishing charter puts a cooler of mahi on ice.

02

Deerfield Beach Island

The barrier island between the Intracoastal and the pier holds the hotels, condos and beach rentals where most of our visiting anglers stay. From here it is a straight shot south on A1A to Hillsboro Inlet. Morning departures fit easily before an afternoon on the sand.

03

Deer Creek

Deer Creek is the golf community west of I-95 along Hillsboro Boulevard. Retirees and winter residents here book weekday charters when the boat traffic is lighter and the inlet is calm. Figure on a 15-minute drive to the slip.

04

Century Village East

Century Village residents are a loyal group of repeat guests, often booking a family-friendly fishing charter when grandchildren visit over the holidays. The air-conditioned salon and private head make a four-hour trip easy for every age.
