Fishing Charters for Coconut Creek

From Coconut Creek to the Gulf Stream

Coconut Creek is the Butterfly Capital of the World, and its residents are some of the most loyal family fishing customers we have. The city sits about 10 miles inland, so guests drive roughly 20 minutes east on Sample Road or Atlantic Boulevard to our slip at Hillsboro Inlet. Our offshore fishing charters for Coconut Creek put a private boat, a captain and a mate at your service for four, six or eight hours.

Fishing the Water off Coconut Creek

Anglers from Coconut Creek, FL with their catch aboard Don't Panic out of Pompano Beach

Anglers from throughout North Broward book our charters, and Coconut Creek sends more families than any other inland city. Kids who have chased butterflies at Tradewinds Park get just as excited about a bent rod, and the mate makes sure the youngest angler gets a turn. Our family fishing charters in South Florida are built around that first catch.

A four-hour half-day charter is the right length for most Coconut Creek groups. Leave Winston Park at 6:15, be at the dock by 6:45 for the 7:00 AM departure, and have a cooler of snapper on ice before lunch. The 12:00 PM slot suits families with late sleepers. Both slots run on the Buddy Davis, which has a cooled salon for anyone who needs shade.

Off Pompano Beach the reef begins roughly a mile out and the shelf drops away inside 5 miles. That short run is why we can fish so much of a four-hour window. Winter sends our kingfish charters to the nearshore reefs, sailfish arrive on the cold fronts, and mahi-mahi show from spring into summer.

Coconut Creek shares Sample Road and Atlantic Boulevard with the Margate fishing charter crowd, so carpooling neighbors from both cities are common on our six-guest trips. If the group wants a swim after the fishing, ask about adding a Pompano Beach sandbar excursion on the way back in.

Why Coconut Creek

Why Coconut Creek Families Trust Us

Coconut Creek is landlocked, which means every fishing trip starts with a drive. Choosing where that drive ends matters. Hillsboro Inlet in Pompano Beach is the closest deep-water inlet to the city, and the reef and the Stream's edge lie 1 to 5 miles past the jetties. Leaving from Fort Lauderdale or Boca would add road time and boat time before you start fishing.

Families also need a boat that works for the whole group. Don't Panic is a 47' Buddy Davis with a chilled salon, couches to nap on, a galley with a full-size fridge and microwave, and a private head. A parent can sit inside with a toddler while the older kids learn mahi-mahi fishing on deck. Grown-ups start the morning with a complimentary Mimosa or Bloody Mary, 21 and over only.

Sea conditions change fast in South Florida, especially on summer afternoons. Captain Ron watches the forecast and will reschedule rather than send a family into rough water. Bring motion sickness medicine, taken per the directions, if anyone is prone to it, and call (954) 263-4648 with questions before the trip.

Around Town

Coconut Creek Neighborhoods We Pick Up From

01

Winston Park

Winston Park is the big family neighborhood on the south side of Coconut Creek, and it produces a steady stream of birthday and holiday charters. Parents like that fishing licenses, tackle and bait are included, so the only prep is packing snacks and sunscreen.

02

Wynmoor Village

Wynmoor's active adult residents book weekday morning trips when the inlet is quiet. Many are retired Northeastern anglers who grew up on striped bass and want to see what a South Florida sailfish does on a kite bait. A full-day charter from Pompano Beach gives them the time.

03

Township

The Township community along Coconut Creek Parkway is close to Lyons Road and a quick shot east on Atlantic Boulevard to the coast. Grandparents here often treat visiting grandkids to a Broward County offshore fishing trip during winter break.

04

Regency Lakes and the Tradewinds Area

The newer neighborhoods north of Sample Road near Tradewinds Park and Butterfly World are home to young families with kids of fishing age. From here, Sample Road runs straight east to Federal Highway and the inlet in about 20 minutes.
