Serving Boca Raton

Private Charters, Short Drive, Fast Fishing

Boca Raton calls itself the City for All Seasons, and the fishing off this coast lives up to the name. The southern edge of Palm Beach County sits right on the Gulf Stream, with sailfish in winter, mahi-mahi in spring and summer, and wahoo whenever the current is right. Our offshore fishing charters for Boca Raton depart from Pompano Beach, a 20-minute drive south on I-95 or Federal Highway from Mizner Park.

How a Boca Raton Charter Day Unfolds

Anglers from Boca Raton, FL with their catch aboard Don't Panic out of Pompano Beach

Boca Raton anglers have a choice of inlets. Boca Inlet is narrow, shallow on the wrong tide, and the drop-off is farther out. Hillsboro Inlet, a dozen miles south, opens onto reefs, wrecks and ledges that start a mile from the beach. That is why Don't Panic Sportfishing runs its deep sea fishing charters from Pompano Beach and why Boca guests make the short drive.

Guests from the Boca Raton Resort and the waterfront communities around Lake Boca usually book a 4-hour fishing charter in the morning. It leaves at 7:00 AM and has you back in time for lunch at Mizner Park. Winter visitors chasing sailfish often extend to six hours so we can work the color change with a kite spread.

The species mix off Boca and Pompano is identical because the Gulf Stream does not respect city limits. Sailfish ride the winter cold fronts, mahi-mahi hold under spring weed lines, and our wahoo fishing charters pull high-speed lures over the ledges. Snapper and grouper wait on the wrecks every month. Captain Ron picks the method that fits the day, not a fixed itinerary.

Getting here is simple. Take I-95 south to Atlantic Boulevard, or ride Federal Highway through the Deerfield Beach fishing charter area and Lighthouse Point to the inlet. Coming down A1A past Red Reef Park and Spanish River Park is the pretty route. Look over our sportfishing boats, the 47' Buddy Davis and the 42' Post, then reserve a date.

Trips Worth Talking About

"Had awesome time at Dont Panic sportfishing with our crew of four with captain Ron and first mate Damien. Caught baracuda, tuna, mahi mahi, had them fileted and prepared at the restaurant of choice for an end to end fishing trip experience. Ron is easy to work with, fun and down to earth small business owner that we highly recommend."

"Captain Ron and his mate, Damian, were absolutely amazing. Beautiful boat, and we were on tuna fast - we started catching them very quickly. The whole trip was fun, relaxed, and run like a well-oiled machine. They truly know how to treat people and make everyone have a great time. I couldn’t recommend them more - if you’re thinking about booking, do it!"

Why Book with Us

Why Boca Raton Anglers Head South to Hillsboro Inlet

Boca Inlet is convenient but limited. It is shallow, the bridge schedule slows departures, and the shelf drop-off sits noticeably farther offshore than it does off Pompano Beach. Hillsboro Inlet offers a deeper channel and reefs that begin about a mile out. On a four-hour trip, that difference can mean an extra hour of actual fishing instead of running.

Boca's winter season is also our busiest. Seasonal residents from the Northeast arrive in November just as the sailfish bite turns on, and the resort fills with families who want a boat day. Booking a week or two ahead matters in January and February. Read what past guests say in our charter reviews before you pick a date.

Palm Beach County anglers also like that everything is included. Licenses, rods, bait, iced coolers and water are all part of the trip, and adults 21 and over get a Bloody Mary or Mimosa at boarding. If your group wants a longer run, ask about a full day working the Gulf Stream edge.

Neighborhoods and Landmarks

Boca Raton, Block by Block

Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club

Royal Palm sits on the Intracoastal beside Boca Inlet and is full of serious boat owners. Members book us when they want a tournament-style crew and a mate without moving their own vessel. A January morning on the Buddy Davis chasing sailfish is the most common request.

Downtown Boca and Mizner Park

Mizner Park and the Boca Raton Resort area supply many of our visiting anglers, especially during the winter season. Guests grab breakfast downtown, drive 20 minutes to Pompano Beach, and are aboard for the 7:00 AM departure. Hotel groups often pair the trip with a sunset cruise later in the week.

Boca Harbour and Boca Bay Colony

These waterfront neighborhoods off Palmetto Park Road are lined with canal homes and boat lifts. Owners here call for a full-day sportfishing charter when out-of-town guests want a real Gulf Stream day instead of a canal cruise.

Por La Mar and Riviera

These beachside blocks between Palmetto Park Road and Camino Real sit a few minutes from South Beach Park and Boca Inlet. Residents watch boats work the inlet every morning. Many of them would rather ride 20 minutes south and fish a deeper channel with a crew that runs it daily.

Clear Rates, No Surprises at the Dock

Rates are per boat, not per person, so a group of six from Boca Raton splits the cost. Your mate rigs every bait and fillets the catch when you are back at the slip.
