Wilton Manors has water on every side, but it is river water. The Middle River winds down to the Intracoastal and out through Port Everglades, a long, slow run past no-wake zones and drawbridges. Driving 15 minutes to Hillsboro Inlet gets you to the reef faster than any boat could get there from Colohatchee Park. That is the whole case for a Pompano Beach departure.
