Coral Springs - Offshore

Coral Springs Offshore Fishing Charters

Atlantic Boulevard runs from the Sawgrass Expressway straight to our dock, and the Gulf Stream edge sits 1 to 5 miles past the jetties.

Deep water, just outside the inlet

Coral Springs sits against the Everglades levee, about as far from salt water as Broward County gets. The drive east is the easy part. Atlantic Boulevard starts at the Sawgrass Expressway and ends near Hillsboro Inlet, so a morning offshore is a 30-minute errand rather than a trip you have to plan a weekend around.

What waits at the end of that drive is real blue water. The continental shelf drops away 1 to 5 miles off the inlet and the Gulf Stream pushes right up against it. Sailfish, mahi-mahi, wahoo, kingfish and blackfin tuna all work that edge. Our fishing charters for Coral Springs guests run private for up to 6 people, with a captain and a mate aboard and every rod, reel and license included.

Why Coral Springs Anglers Fish Out of Hillsboro Inlet

Coral Springs was built on drained wetland, and its canals feed the C-14 drainage system rather than the ocean. Every offshore trip starts with a drive, so the question is which inlet pays off at the end of it.

Hillsboro Inlet is small, quick and sits closer to deep water than almost any other access point on this coast. There is no long no-wake crawl past commercial traffic before the fishing starts. Guests coming from University Drive or Coral Ridge Drive take Atlantic Boulevard the whole way; from the Sample Road side, I-95 south drops you three minutes from the slip.

What Is Biting Through the Year

The calendar decides the target, and the captain decides the method. Winter cold fronts push sailfish down the coast from November into March, and that is the window Coral Springs groups book first.

Spring opens the weed lines for mahi-mahi, summer sends us to the wrecks for snapper and grouper, and fall brings kingfish blitzes over the nearshore reefs. Blackfin tuna, bonito and skipjack work the bait schools most of the year, and wahoo show up from fall into winter for anyone trolling high-speed lures.

Matching the Hours to Your Group

Four hours covers the reef line and the first drop-off, which suits a family or a group with a lunch reservation to keep. A half-day fishing charter leaves at 7:00 AM or 12:00 PM, so Coral Springs guests can pick the slot that fits the drive.

Six hours buys time to troll the Gulf Stream edge properly. Eight gives the captain room to work several patterns in one day and change tactics as the bite moves, which is what a full-day charter is for.

What Comes With the Boat

Everything needed to fish is already aboard. Tournament-quality rods and reels, bait, tackle, fishing licenses for every guest, coolers with ice and bottled water, and a mate who rigs baits and coaches first-timers through the fight.

Both boats carry an air-conditioned salon with couches, a galley and a private head, which matters on a long summer morning. You bring food, drinks, sunscreen and a hat. The crew cleans and bags your catch at the dock when you get back.

Teams, Birthdays and Corporate Days

Coral Springs is a youth-sports town, and a lot of our bookings here are team outings, coach thank-yous and birthday trips for kids who have outgrown the pier. Six guests fit comfortably on one boat.

For bigger groups the two boats run together, which covers a party of 12. Neighbours from Coconut Creek and Parkland often fill the second boat, and corporate hosts from the Sawgrass office parks book weekdays when the dock is quiet.

Book a Coral Springs Charter

Weekend dates in sailfish season go first, so two to three weeks of notice is the safe play for a Saturday in January. Weekdays are easier and usually quieter on the water.
